Wow, should start posting more often!!

so obivously by now I have had the baby.

Jalyn was born via emergancy c section on 10-10-09.

After contractions started on 10-08 I waited for them to get stronger and closer, I went to sleep for a for a bit and woke up at 8am and had a weird pain, not thinking much of it, James went to work. Within 5 minutes my contractions hit hard and fast. I was calling him within 15 minutes of him leaving, but he forgot to turn up his volume on his phone. I had my step dad take me to the hospital, and found out the weird pain I had was my water breaking and her head was blocking the hole so I didn't get a gush of fluid. I was 5cm when I got there and progressed pretty quickly.

The epidural was not inserted properly, only worked on one side so it had to get fixed. Then it kept wearing off too quick. I stopped progressing after a while, so they had to give me potassin (sp?). After a while my temperature was going up, and both of our heart rates started going crazy. I was told if I wasnt pushing within a hour they would take her via c section. After just 30 minutes they decided they needed to taker her.

While I was waiting for the surgeon my epidural wore off, so I was feeling everything for a while. I got back to the OR, and they gave me a spinal. Jalyn was stuck pretty bad, and there was some extra manuvering that had to be done to get her out. She was born screaming at 1:27am on October 10th. While they were stitching me up James got to hold and bring her to me so I could see her. While they were closing me up the spinal started to wear off so I was starting to feel things.

Jalyn has been a great baby. She almost never cries, she is just content with life pretty much no matter what she is doing.

We are so blessed to have her here, and are loving every minute of it.

Sure has been a while.

Well, I'm about 34 1/2 weeks pregnant, and have not posted much... cause not much has happened.

James and I went to the Seahawks game on the 22, and all the walking around made me start having contractions. They say if you have like 5 in a hour to go into L&D... I had like 3 or 4 in a hour, then they started to slow down. I had a few the next day, but nothing major.

Then monday afternoon I started having really strong contractions, and pretty close to eachother. I also notice Jalyn was not moving as much (probably wasnt happy with her small home getting smaller). So I called the on call mid wife and asked what I should do. They said to go in.

Of course, the contractions slowed down right after I talked to them. And on the way to the hospital I only had I think one (I only live 10 min. away anyway) and she started moving again. But we went anyway just to make sure all was well.

I was there for a total of 3 hours, hooked up to machines. Had a few contractions, and at first they were saying they might have to "wake her up" cause she wasnt moving again, but her heart was great. And within a few minutes she started moving.

They said they aren't sure why I was contracting, I was slightly dehydrated, but not enough to cause contractions like that. But I wasn't in labor obivously.

So all we can figure is my body is just getting ready for it all.

But all is still well here, my baby shower is coming up in a few weeks, then hopefully she will be born right after... a little early is great with me. lol

26 weeks

So I am now 26 weeks, and it seems to be flying by.

I went for my appointment with my midwives at 24 weeks and they told me I needed to go in for another ultra sound, I guess even though they told me everything looked great at the ultra sound at 20 weeks, they were not able to get a clear view of her heart and stuff. They said it was nothing to worry about... of course I worried.

Went in at 25 weeks for that ultra sound, and everything was great. She was moving around like crazy, the tech even said she was one of the most active babies she has seen at the gestational age. They were able to get clear views of everthing they needed, and even rechecked... she is still a girl. :)

She is moving around all the time now. I think she might be a soccer player when she gets older. This morning she even decided to kick me over and over and over in the same spot.. it really started to hurt.. but I love feeling her move so I dealt with it.

I am excited the pregnancy is going by so quick.. here shortly we will be holding our little girl in our arms. We cant wait.

Name change.. kind of

James loves the name we have picked out, but I guess he did not like the spelling. So it has been changed to Jalyn Rose.

Still just as pretty.

We now know the gender!!

I would like for you to meet, Miss Jaelyn Rose Edeburn. The ultra sound went great, we have a healthy baby girl growing. As you can see in this picture she already has her hands up to get her nails done.. or if she is anything like her mom to strangle daddy. haha.
We are super excited and can't wait until October comes around.

18 week dr appointmnet

Went for my dr appointment yesterday. Was so awesome to hear the heartbeat again. This time they didn't have to do any searching... just put the doppler on my tummy and there it was. Got another recording of it as well. You can hear everytime the baby kicks in the 15-20 seconds I recorded... so awesome.

By the way... I want to let everyone know now.. the baby may possibly be gay. lol. I mean, not really, but the other night James and I were laying in bed and he hasn't been able to feel the baby kick yet so he had his hand on my tummy and were trying everything to get him/her to kick. So I said "Kick if your a boy." Nothing, "Kick if your a girl." Nothing, "Kick if your a future seahawk." Nothing, "Kick if your gay." and I felt something lol. Coulda been gas... or the baby is gay or has a good sense of humor already lol. We were cracking up.

Only two more weeks til we find out the sex of the baby, I can't wait to finally be able to really go shopping for clothes and stuff. Will be so much fun knowing if I need to go blue or pink.. and not just yellow. lol

Feeling the baby

So early last week, James and I went to go see the fast and the furious... LOVED IT BTW!!

But sitting there, I all of a sudden felt a kick in my lower abdomen!! It was amazing!!

There has been a few times that I thought I was feeling the baby, but no way to say for sure it wasnt gas.

This time I knew it was the baby, it wasn't just a flutter, it was a kick.

Since then I have felt the baby a couple more times, but nothing as strong as that kick.

I can't wait til the baby is constantly kicking me, and when James will be able to feel it.

Other then that, just went and got more blood drawn for the first trimester screening, I have a appointment on the 4th, but have to wait til the 18th to find out if it's a boy or girl. We are super excited about that.

April 6th, Dr. appointment

Had a doctors appointment today. Went awesome. Heard the heartbeat, 140bpm.

James got off of work in time to be able to go so that was cool. He said the heartbeat sounded like a slow helicopter would.

I got to record it for 10 seconds on my phone, so now I can listen to it when ever.

Dont have another appt. until May 4th, and then on May 18th I go in to find out the sex of the baby. I can't wait for that!!!

update

Nothing really going on. No more problems, besides normal stuff. Its nice not worrying all the time. We are going to start stocking up on diapers and stuff. That way when the baby is here we dont have to worry about it.

I have a appointment on monday, I cant wait. Will hopefully be able to hear the heartbeat. Might even see if they will let me record it on my cell phone.

Thats about it.

Officially in my 2nd trimester!!

As of March 29th I am in my 2nd trimester.

Have 6 months to go!!! Hitting the 2nd trimester is such a great feeling. Alot of the fears of miscarriage go away as the chances now are a lot lower.

We are super excited!!

We get to find out in May if its a boy or a girl.

If its a boy his name will be Joseph James Edeburn, after James' uncle that passed away quite a few years back. His name was Joseph Dean, I talked James into putting his name as the middle name.

If it is a girl her name will be Jaelyn Rose Edeburn. We like Jaelyn because its kinda both of our names put together.

1st trimester screening

Went in for our first trimester screening. Basically they do a ultrasound and measure back behind the spine, it is proven that babies born with downs syndrom have more fluid there.

James and I decided we would do this test since there is no harm to the baby, and even if it came back with probabilities of downs we would not terminate. We would love our baby no matter what.

James, my mom and I went for the ultrasound. They have the ultrasound project on a tv now besides the screen the doctor looks at. James was so cute, he was right by that screen looking at the baby.

It actually looks like a baby now. The tech said the measurements were great, just have to do blood work.

We got two pictures of the baby. We were so happy!

Mommy and Daddys 6 year anniversary

Wow.. six years together now.

James and I met a little over six years ago, we were friends for about 7 months before we started dating. It wasnt supposed to be anything serious to start out... but once we really started hanging out we never stopped.

Now six years later we are expecting our first baby.

2nd doctors appointment

Went in for the second doctors appointment. Was stressed out because I had lost all of the syptoms that I did have. Although I never threw up I would get a upset stomach after eating, I had sore boobs, and a few other syptoms and after the last trip to the ER I lost those.

I was very worried. But after just searching for a few seconds I heard my babies heartbeat, I cried. It was the most amazing sound I have ever heard.

Another trip to the ER

I woke up early March 1st and had to pee so bad, which is a normal thing now. I went to the restroom and when I wipped my worst fear ever came true, I was bleeding.

I instantly went and woke up James and told him we had to go to the ER. I wanted to take a shower as I figured they would be doing a pelvic exam, so I told him to take the dog out and get ready. I woke up my mom and told her what was going on.

We went into the ER and they didn't seem busy. But it took a while before they even got me into triage, and thats where they told me something pretty serious was going on and taking up the doctors time so they would get be back ASAP.

I didn't have to wait to long, but longer then I wanted to. I was stressing so bad, James was telling me to calm down and the more I stressed the worse it would make it. Finally I got taken back and a very handsom doctor came into the room and told me strip down and put on the gown. I was taking my time, and not even a minute later he was back in the room with a ultrasound machine. He spent a while trying to find the baby, I was stressing so bad. He couldn't find the baby. So he said he was going to get the doppler machine and said they should be able to hear the heart beat, but that since I wasn't too far along and the baby is still so small he may not be able to. But I took that as something that a doctor will tell anyone when they are having problems finding their baby.

He was not able to find the heart beat with the doppler. So he said he was going to get a transvaginal ultrasound done for me. He walked out of the room, and I broke down. My mom and James tried to tell me that it was just cause the baby was so small. But that didn't matter, it still freaked me out. We went back for the other ultrasound and this time I said I wanted James and my mom to come.

Shortly after probbing me, they found the baby. I was so happy, you could see its little heart beating and everything. I was so releived I started to tear up. My little gummy bear as the ultrasound tech called it was looking good, and again measured past what they had thought last time.

Come to find out there is blood around my placenta. No clue why, or anything, but they said it wont harm the baby. I wasn't able to get a picture this time, didn't even ask for one. Was just happy to see my healthy little baby.

First appointment

I was so excited to finally have my first appointment (5 days after my 25th birthday). James was not able to go with as he had to work.

Glad we didn't have him take time off as all I did was answer questions about my health and family history.

I was hoping to hear the heartbeat or get a ultrasound.

Trip to the ER

I had been havin sharp pains on my left side, real bad sometimes. I would double over in pain at times. I tried to hide this from people because I didn't want to admit that something could be wrong with the baby.

I hadn't been to the doctor yet as I was waiting for my insurance to kick in. But I was on babycenter.com and found a thing about tubal pregnancy. It scared me so bad. Everything that they said points to a tubal pregnancy I had going on. So I called my sister and asked her what she thought, she said I should go to the ER.

So James, my mom, and I went to the ER. I was actually brought back pretty quick. When I told them my syptoms they said the wanted to do a ultrasound to make sure the baby is where it was supposed to be. This just made my fear worse, they were thinking the same thing I was.

They said first they were going to take me in for a pelvic exam, so my mom and James stayed in the original room. Before they even did the pelvic exam they took me back to do the ultrasound. I told them my mom and James wanted to be there for it, but they said since it was intervaginal ultrasound they didnt need to come. I personally think they didn't want them back there incase something was wrong.

After the ultrasound tech probed around my vajayjay for what seemed like forever she showed me my baby. It just looked like a little pumpkin seed, but she said it looked good, and was actually mesuring ahead from the due date DSHS gave me. I asked the lady if she was able to give a picture and she said they don't do that in the ER, then before they wheeled me back out she gave it to me and told me to hide and not to let anyone know she did it. I was so excited.
I got my pelvic exam done and went back into my room. After a bit the doctor came in and said there was a healthy 6 week old baby. I asked him what was causing the pain and he told me I had cysts on both of my ovaries and that they should not harm the baby and would burst or melt away within a few days. One burst that night then the other the next day.
I never thought I would be so happy to hear that I had cysts. I really thought something was wrong with our baby. Cysts, I could deal with... losing my baby I couldn't.

A little back story

After not getting my lovely monthly visit on Saturday Jan. 24th I was thinking there was a possibility that I could be pregnant. But last time that I didn't get it on time as soon as I went and spent the money on the test I started. So I waited, and didn't really tell anyone right away.

After a couple more days of still not starting, on Tuesday I told James, and we decided we would wait until Sunday and if I still hadn't started we would go and buy a test. Then on Wednesday my car broke down and I broke down and started bawling, I was overly emotional. But with my car being broken down and being stranded I didn't think I was being emotional because I was pregnant.

Thursday morning I texted my sister that lives 3 hours away and asked her how long after she missed her period did she wait to test. That of course made her tell me to go get a test right then. I told her we wanted to wait until Sunday, and she said that I was 6 days over and that if it was because of stress or something else I would have probably started. I told her I would talk to James when he got home from work and see what he had to say.

James got home and we went to play poker at a local bar (no I did not drink, but I did get a weird craving for fried ice cream, then when I got it tasted horrible). While we were eating dinner I told him that Destiny wanted us to get the test tonight, he said we would see. Then Destiny texted me, asking if we had gotten the test. I told her we were playing poker and didnt know if we were going to get it. We decided since we had to go grocery shopping anyway we would pick up one.

We got home around 11:30 and I went and peed on the stick. The positive line showed up within seconds, no waiting 5 minutes like the test said. So I went and showed James the test, the line, although it was there was very faint, so he could barely see it as he was outside in the dark. So I told him it was positive, he gave me a hug and kiss.

I sent a picture of the test to my sister via text message, she responded "I told you" and something about how it will be twin girls. I went and showed my mother the test and talked her into going to the store with me to buy a "better quality" test. That one of course came back positive as well.
